fit was perfect. Not too sloppy and not too tight. Bolt fish wires were very well designed. Did use a different hole that was further forward to fish the bolts through. That way, did not have to drill out any holes bigger that a bolt actually attached through. Just cut a slit( with a Dremel) on both sides of that bigger fish hole and bent them down. When finished, bent slit tabs back up and put plug back in, all sealed up.
Nicely built heavy duty trailer hitch, easy to install and it fit like a glove.
Bought this for 2021 Subaru Forester. Fast delivery! Product seems to be of excellent build quality. A fraction of the price of the one you can buy from the Subaru website. Directions were mostly spot on. Left out some trimming necessary to fit the plastic back on under the bumper on the driver side. Would definitely buy again and would recommend.
Great deal for a quality product! Subaru wants $[XX] plus labor for a hitch and I can't imagine it's that much better than this for under $[XX]. I unbolted the muffler and disconnected the rear hanger rather than dropping the exhaust, plenty of room even without jacking up the vehicle. Step drill made quick work of enlarging the hole, hook tool made fishing the wire a breeze and floor jack with a zip tie made it a one man job. Took me a little over an hour with no unexpected surprises.
The hit hitch has been great so far. I bought it to attach a deer carrier so I don’t get the inside of my forester bloody. Instal was easy and straight forward. Although I did use a car lift when I installed so that made it easier.
Just installed on our 2024 Subaru Forester. Took several hours but I am 64 and do not have a lift like they do in the video. Also the etrailer instal 2023 Video is much better than the 2024.

A year in and going strong. This hitch along with bike rack I got from etrailer makes taking the bikes with us a breeze.

Hitch is on my 2019 Subaru Forester which the hitch was configured for. Once you get past the shields installed by Subaru the hitch fits perfectly. Just follow excellent installation instructions. If it helps, Subaru dealer quoted $1,200.00 for them to to install “their” hitch. You can do this, if you have the few tools required and a bit of mechanical ability
It came quickly and exactly as described. Installation took 70 minutes and fit perfectly.
I would recommend etrailer as everything is precise.

Great hitch for the price and yes there are a couple of extra modifications that are needed for a clean installation but to be honest if you are taking on this install yourself you should be able to perform the additional tasks. (I did not have an extra set of hands and I learned from prior installations to utilize an auto jack to hold the hitch while I threaded on the nuts)

Customer Service was fantastic. Royce was extremely helpful after UPS lost my package and managed to get me a new one before the weekend so I could take my bikes to the event! I did end up phoning a friend for install as its pretty difficult without a lift. That being said with a lift it went much easier.
Installed by professional with no problem. Hitch works fine for my bike carrier.
The hitch receiver mounted up very easily. I was able to do it myself in about 90 minutes……and that’s going slowly and deliberately just to prevent mistakes. If you had experience I’d get you could do it in under an hour.
It's nice when you buy something and get exactly what was advertised. The hitch is very well built and was surprisingly simple to install. The on line videos guided me through the installation. I ended up with a quality hitch and a factory like installation Overall I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it. Money well spent.

I installed this Hitch on a 2025 Forester Premium, installation went smooth and it took me about 4 hours to complete, the installation videos were a great help. The quality of Hitch Receiver and supplied Hardware are excellent.

No issues so far. Install was pretty straight forward. The videos from etrailer were great to get confirmation of hitch matching my vehicle and the steps to take. the matte black looks nice and sort of blends into the trim on the forester.
Installation kit, instructions, and video specific to the year make and model were thorough, and clear. After carefully reviewing the information there was no surprises waiting for me and my self-installation. I think I only had to run to the tool chest once during installation because I had just about everything I needed ready for install. I just needed a different length socket extender, I found the 6 inch one suggested a bit long.
Hitch appears durable and well made. Great powdercoat finish. Grade 8 Hardware. This product is well past the specs of the manufacturer meaning it can handle more than the car is rated for.
Specific to the car - 2020 Subaru Forester. I didn't even put the car on jackstands. It was just enough room for me to get in there and it was even beneficial having the car a bit lower while "benchpressing" the hitch into place. I did not need to remove the plastic splash guard on the driver side that was removed in the video and in the instructions. I removed the two 10mm/Phillips bolts where it was attached on the frame rail and when it was time to put the hitch on, the plastic was flexible enough to shove over and around the hitch's driver's side bracket. That sure saved me a ton of time not having to fiddle with the flimsy retainer clips! Also, if I were to do another - I would probably pay the couple bucks for a new exhaust cursh gasket and just get it completely out of my way. The time I spent wiggling it around especially during the final torque was probably more than the two extra bolts after the cat to remove the catback part of the exhaust.
Overall fantastic experience with etrailer. Quick shipping, fair price, great product! Will shop again.

Fit went well. I mistakenly ordered the wrong hitch, they reponded right away with a UPS shipping label, put in the order for the correct hitch and it was sent out. I was then credited when they received the previous hitch, all went smooth.

Been working perfect, we use it for a hitch mounted, tray style bike rack for 2 bikes.
great hitch , perfect for the bike rack we have, .The installation video makes it look easy as the car is on a lift but if you back the car up standard ramps you will have a stable and good work area,. a little tough lifting the hitch while on your back to the bolts but with a little determination it all comes together.

The trailer hitch was not that hard to install. It went pretty well. The hardest part was removing the rubber hangers on the muffler. I got them off and got the hitch installed. I got the outside hanger back on ok, but could not get the inside hanger back on with the hitch installed. I ended up disconnecting the muffler from the tail pipe, two bolts that came off easy. This would have been a much better approach to installing the hitch as it would have gotten the muffler out of the way for enlarging the hole and getting the bolts installed.
I haven’t used it yet and will only be using it for hauling bikes. However, I am pleased with the hitch.
Watched a video then put on the hitch. Dealer wanted over $1000 for the job. I had to spend $18 at Harbor Freight for a cone drill bit and that my only extra. Used some ramps to lift the back, creeper to move around on and a couple jack stands to hold up the tailpipe and muffler assembly. Some silicon spray worked great to lube the muffler hangers and easy to get those off. I used a cut-off disk on my grinder and thought that easier than tin snips to trim the heat shield. Took about 90 min plus time to get tools together, watch a video and buy the drill. Looks great and very solid. This went on a Subaru Forester Hybrid and it does block the sensor to swing foot under the rear to open the back. I’ll do without that to have the freedom of a hitch

I am glad to hear you were able to knock it out yourself after watching our video. It is not the hardest job in the world with the right tools and time! Looks great on the vehicle as well. I do want to add, some people have had success with the liftgate sensor by moving to the right or the left of the hitch. Some vehicles it will not work but some people have tried swinging their foot off center and had success. What are you planning on using the hitch for?
My Subaru dealer (for my 2025 Forester) wanted $900 for their trailer hitch, and to install. The e-trailer hitch was $167, plus my install! e-trailer wire harness $32, and dealer’s wanted $174! Laying out my tools needed, hitch parts, watching the 2 install videos on e-trailer, used my floor Jack to raise the hitch, raising my car on car ramps, and laying on my back, total hands-on was about 50 minutes. Not easy, but not difficult.

This hitch was such a precise fit to existing OEM drilled holes in the frame, it was as if Subaru had made the hitch. I worried about hooking up the electric wiring harness. but it turned out that I found the OEM electric built-in lighting plug...geewhiz, a click and I had teaiker light power.
Very pleased with my hitch, person I received quote from to put hitch on gave a reasonable quote and hitch was put on within a week from purchase. Thank you to Omni Perforance for putting my hitch on.

My Xena Wilderness finally has a bike hole now. It took much longer than an hour due to not having a lift and it being slightly dirtier than ideal under the Forester. The bolt hole trimming took a bit on the passenger side due to clearance issues from muffler. It would have liked the kit to have mounting hardware without having to make the hole bigger. All in all glad I got it done, but definitely could have gone smoother.
